UPDATE: EUREKA IS NOT IN FACT ON THEIR 4TH SEASON BUT AIRING THE REMAINING EPISODES OF THE THIRD! MY ONLY EXCUSE FOR THIS ERROR IS THAT PERHAPS THE HUGE BREAK IN BETWEEN MADE ME THINK THIS WAS THE 4TH.
Eureka came back for a fourth season last night and I gotta say, I was actually missing that show…..a bit.
I started watching at the tail end of season two, then watched the whole of season three while catching up with seasons one and two on hulu.
For those fuzzy on the details, when last we saw sheriff Carter and Co., Zoe almost died, a lady full of secrets was trying to bury the past and her secrets on a underground bunker and almost destroy the town as consequence but of course Carter saved the day as always though he was fired as sheriff ’cause he was supposed to arrested the mysterious lady but instead he set her free; oh and Henry became Major.
Season four picked up exactly or at the very least a few days after last season’s ender, with Carter interviewing for a new job that will take him, Zoe and aunt Lexi away from Eureka, Zoe not liking it one bit, and Carter discovering that his replacement won’t be deputy Lupo but an android, a very friendly android I may add. Of course no one in town wants to see Carter go, least of all Alison who we all know still have feeling for Carter as much as he has feelings for her yet something tells me they aren’t going to be getting together this season because someone is gonna be coming back just at the right time if you catch my drift. Feel free to guess who that *someone* is.
At the end, the new sheriff couldn’t quite figure out the episode’s mystery without the help of Carter who couldn’t keep himself away from the investigation even if he was no longer the sheriff and the actual culprit turned out to be not who I was expecting which was a first, seeing as how I can always guess; Eureka isn’t exactly big on hiding the identity of each episodes accidental antagonist, sort of like Scooby-Doo.
Eureka is fun, it’s like a eating ice cream or a bar of chocolate, it isn’t meant to change your life in anyway, or make you think; it simply aims to entertain you in a midly amusing, quirky, comedic way, and last night season premiere was exactly that. No more, no less.

I am also quite pleased that the show has been renewed for a new season. But what you are watching now is the second half of season three, not four. Four has yet to begin production.
Whoa, you are quite right! I guess the long break made me believe we were on the 4th season already, thanks for the correction and thanks for reading.
