Ok, I unfortunately wasn’t able to get many pictures. For one thing, my sense of direction is still fucked so getting to the volunteer sign-in table was delayed by me going south when I thought I was going north. Then I was told to go one way to find the “dragons” and they weren’t anywhere near where I’ve been originally told. Once I found my party, I was immediately given a tail, a top and a huge dragon head and told to put it all on to begin practicing the routine.
So in all, I was only able to capture a few images here and there. I would have taken more pics but it started to rain–not hard but rain nonetheless and we had to dance, jump around, interact with the crowds, scare little kids and pose for pictures. Even with the rain drizzling down, the wind blowing hard, my feet soaked thanks to one too many puddles, and the fact that I walked 25 Manhattan blocks for close to 2 hours, I would still do it all over again. It was a complete blast.

Here I am dressed as a dragon. How fitting right?

fellow dragons trying to adjust their heads. They weren't as heavy as they seem but it did get a bit tiring after 2 hours.

tooth fairy and Jesus? Anyone in custome could join the parade on the back end though people were all over the place.

this serpent was so cool! It lit up from the insides after it got dark but it was so far from us that I couldn't get a picture.

they were rehersing a dance when I first got there but never saw them again after it all began.

bats and ghosts. The bats were pretty manageable but the ghosts? with the wind? hard! I wouldn't want to handle those, I was feeling sorry for the lady and guy moving them.

and we are off!
There you have it folks. Hope these few pictures were good enough. Lots of papers/magazines took my picture and the TV crew was around us alot so I know my likeness is somewhere out there! gotta go search…..
